Amsterdam Design 1900–1930 In the early 20th century, two movements emerged that were to define Dutch design of the early 20th century: de Stijl (the Style) and de Amsterdamse School (the Amsterdam School). De Stijl was the minimal and modernist of the two.
De Amsterdamse School, on the other hand, broke with rational convention and allowed for the frivolous use of ornament. Amsterdam 1900–1930 contains a visual guide to the design methodology used by graphic designers, architects and artists at the time and hundreds of examples of designs from the first three decades of the 20th century.
CD with designs included.
